How to play Pyramid Solitaire

Try Pyramid Solitaire at your own pace and keep its objective in view. Remove all 28 pyramid cards. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls. Check the rule that explains your first action. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions.

Pyramid, stock and waste; one stock recycle. Free solo play, no wagering.

Make the controls familiar

Locate the buttons and input area before beginning a long round. Use the on-screen labels to avoid an accidental restart. Notice the feedback after each input.

Your goal

Remove all 28 pyramid cards. Read that aim before choosing your first action. Start with a deliberate move.

Step by step

  1. Only uncovered cards are selectable. Pairs total 13; a king removes alone.
  2. Click an exposed card or eligible pair to remove it.
  3. Draw when useful.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Controls

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. A careful first action helps you become familiar with the layout. Return to the rules if the result is unexpected.

A useful example

An exposed queen pairs with an ace; a jack pairs with a 2. Focus on why the action is allowed, not only its outcome. Consider the next action carefully.

Watch out for this

Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Compare the situation with the worked example. Before your first action, say what you are trying to achieve. Then compare the result with the goal.
